General objective: The biodiversity conservation in the sustainable development perspective of the protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare

Specific objectives

  • Implementation of the conservation means regarding the wild birds of community importance by developing the management plan of the protected natural area Gruia- Gârla Mare, endorsed by ANAP
  • Raising the awareness of the local community on the conservation of birds species of community interest in the natural protected area Gruia - Gârla Mare
  • Increase the management institutional capacity of the protected natural area Gruia- Gârla Mare
  • Project management

Project activities:

  • Develop the management plan of the protected natural area Gruia- Gârla Mare, endorsed by ANAP;
  • Catalog the bird species of community interest living in the protected natural area Gruia – Gârla Mare and assess the current conservation state of the protected area (factors/ impact/ effects assessment - for all bird species of community interest in the protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare);
  • Map-draw the protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare, draw the maps with the distribution of the bird species of community interest within the natural protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare and identify the categories of land use and type of property in the natural protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare;
  • Do the feasibility study, technical design and implementation details necessary to build a visit and information infrastructure on the conservation of bird species of community interest in the natural protected area  Gruia – Gârla Mare;
  • Do a study regarding the impact upon the environment of a visit and information infrastructure on the conservation of bird species of community interest in the natural protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare;
  • Hold 4 information sessions on the bird species of community interest living in the natural protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare;
  • Hold 4 thematic workshops „Save the birds of Europe!”;
  • Shoot a documentary film „Save the birds of Europe!”;
  • Make an information web site on the bird species of community interest in the natural protected area Gruia – Gârla Mare.
