Project title:“Responsible Youth”

Short description: The aim of the project “Responsible Youth” is to stir the young people's attention about the importance of their involvement into the political and social life, by making them familiar with the basic notions of the public administration as a major factor which influences the development of the local community they belong to.

The project’s objectives:
Overall objectives:

  • To facilitate the youth’s active involvement into the political and social life
  • To acquire, structure and promote the essential notions about the local and county public administration

Specific objectives:

  • To acquire the basic knowledge regarding the political parties and citizens’ civil rights
  • To stir the young people's attention about the role that the local administration plays in the community
  • To acquire the basic knowledge regarding the civic involvement into the decision making act of the local administration
  • To induce a positive attitude among the youth regarding the necessity of their active involvement into the public life

Project’s implementation period: 01.12.2008-31.12.2009

In the project there were conducted the following activities:

  • Forming of the initiative group;
  • Organizing 5 workshops: Acquiring the basic knowledge about the civic rights and duties, political parties, electoral system; Introductory concepts about the local administration’s electing, structure and attributions; The decision instruments of the local administration: starting with the necessity of the community and ending with the decisions of the administrative forum; The transparency of the administration, free access to the public interest information, public consultation; The guard-dogs: the role played by the mass-media and NGOs sector in the life of the community.
  • Participation of the initiative group to the meetings of the local and county council,  and meeting the local and county authorities;
  • Editing and printing a “Public Involvement Guidebook” that includes the conclusions of the youth drawn on their experience gained during the trainings and meetings organized by the project. It is a message from youth to youth regarding the involvement and public participation;
